Charlotte Rose Weyenberg

Charlotte Rose Weyenberg (VanDyke) - Kaukauna - Age 73, passed away Sept. 11, 2020, at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Char was born July 17, 1947, the daughter of Edwin and Dorothy (Kersten) VanDyke. Char graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1965. On July 29, 1967, she married Joseph Weyenberg, Jr. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Char worked at Kaukauna Community Hospital for many years until it closed in 1996. She worked in many areas including: OB, the pharmacy, and the supply room. She cherished the time she worked there and made many dear friends. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, and they affectionately called her “Grandma Charlie.” Char was an avid bingo player for many years. She shared that love with her sister, Jeanie. They also loved to go for moped rides and play cards with their sister, Janice. They would play for hours and had the best time. Char also enjoyed reading, swimming, and picking and cleaning hickory nuts. She made the best apple pie, rhubarb crisp, applesauce, and grape jelly. Some special friends even enjoyed her annual liver and onion lunch. Char also loved animals. The family pets were just as spoiled as the grandchildren by Grandma Charlie. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 53 years: Joseph; their children: Kelly (Robert) Ashley, Daniel Weyenberg, Christina (Peter) Nelson; sister: Janice Brogan; sisters and brothers-in-law: Bob Brogan, Diane Dietzen, Jim and Judy Eichhorst, Jerry and Kay Luckow, and Patricia VanDyke; grandchildren: Nicholas Ashley, Joshua Ashley (fiancée Emily Krueger), Kaleasha Ashley (fiancé Michael West), Alaina Hartjes, Macy Hartjes, Luke Hartjes, Amelya Nelson, Clara Nelson, Frances Nelson; honorary granddaughter: Sylvia Vanderloop; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edwin and Dorothy VanDyke; sister: Jean Corbin; brothers: Edwin VanDyke, Jr, Donald VanDyke; father and mother-in-law: Joseph Sr. and Margaret Weyenberg; sisters and brothers-in-law: George Alders, Charles Corbin, Fran Dietzen, Patricia Eichhorst, and Judy VanDyke.
