Eugene Berghuis

Eugene L. Berghuis “Gene” - Little Chute - Age 83, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, at the place he called home the last three years, Apple Creek Place, with his niece Kara by his side. Gene was born on March 7, 1937, to Leo and Hilda (Weiland) Berghuis in Little Chute. He was a veteran having served in the US Army. Gene worked for more than 42 years at the Kimberly Mill until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed traveling and took frequent trips to Europe with his cherished friends. Gene was an avid sports fan especially of the Little Chute youth and high school sports. He was also a big Brewers fan. Gene was a lifelong member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Community, Little Chute. He was also a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258 and St. John Athletic Association, receiving the “Top Man Award” in 1989 and was inducted into their hall of fame in 1999. Gene is survived by his sister-in-law: Carol Berghuis, niece and nephews: Tim (Molly) Berghuis, Exton, Pa., Kara (John) Kramer, Little Chute; and Dave (Cindy) Berghuis, Farmington, Minn.; great nieces and great nephews: Amanda, Jake, and Jordan Berghuis, Luke (Lauren) Kramer, Katie (Will) Dougherty, Emily and Ben Berghuis, other relatives and friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Jerry Berghuis. The funeral liturgy for Gene was held on Nov. 5 at St. John Nopomucene Catholic Community, Little Chute, with Fr.
