Michelle Dolan

Michelle Dolan (Schnese) - On Jan. 2, 2021, passed away after a courageous fight with cancer. Michelle was born on April 27, 1959 in Appleton to Ken and Alvina Bretthauer Schnese. After graduating from Kimberly High School in 1978, she worked at the Kimberly paper mill (Repap, Midtec) for 30 years until they closed. She then worked for Jack’s Maintenance until her retirement last year. On Nov. 6, 1987, she married the love of her life, Kevin Dolan. They spent 31 years traveling, doing puzzles and enjoying game shows and soap operas on TV. Through Kevin’s battle with Parkinson’s disease, Michelle remained strong and supportive to him while enjoying life and all its blessings. She is survived by her stepson: Justin (Sara) Dolan, her step-grandchildren: Krystyna and Justice Andersen, her brothers: Ken Schnese and Nancy – a friend of the family, his children: Scott and Tina; and Curt (Bonnie) Schese; and brother-in-law: Al Paltzer. She is also survived by stepmom: Doris Dolan, as well as Kevin’s brothers and sisters: Pat (Debbie) Dolan, Maureen and Chris Stoffel; Colleen and Tom Schuelke; Eileen Dolan; Sean and Christine Dolan, Shannon and Kevin Pomeroy; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband: Kevin Dolan; her parents: Kenneth and Alvina Schnese; sisters: Susan Wankey and Sandy Paltzer; and her in-laws: Tom and Marie Dolan. Special thanks to Ascension Hospice; Cliff, Jenny, Ann, Rebecca, and Chris. At this time there will be no funeral but a celebration of her life will be held in the spring when the flowers are in bloom, on May 1, at the family home in Kaukauna. A memorial has been established in her name for 1000 Islands Environmental Center. Please include a note or put on the memo line of the donation "in memory of Michelle Dolan."
