Andrew Hanlon photo/Kaukauna’s Kyle Springstroh gave up three runs in the first inning of last Tuesday’s game against Appleton North but allowed only four hits the rest of the way, giving the Ghosts a chance to make a comeback in their eventual loss to the Lightning.
Kaukauna had runners in scoring position in each of the second, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings last Tuesday as the fourth-seeded Ghosts matched up with fifth-seeded Appleton North in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal, but Kaukauna’s six hits only plated two runs as its 2021 campaign came to a close in a 4-2 loss.
