Janice Hammen

Janice C. Hammen - Kaukauna - Age 83, passed away unexpectedly after a very brief illness on Aug. 20, 2021. She was born on March 22, 1938, daughter of the late Emil and Laura (DioGuardo) Giordana. Janice married Bob Hammen on Sept. 1, 1958 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. Janice had the gift of gab and loved socializing with anyone who wanted to have a conversation. She welcomed family and friends into her home with open arms. Janice and Bob lived in the Giordana homestead. She was born in the house and lived there until she passed. She was a true people person. Janice had a passion for sports. She enjoyed watching all levels, from her grandkids to the Packers, Brewers and Bucks. The family cottage on Pelican Lake was one of her favorite places to be. She would fish all day with Bob and enjoyed every moment spent together on the lake. Spending time with her family made her the happiest. Janice is survived by her loving husband of almost 63 years: Bob; children: Joan (Scott) Fenn, Don (Julie) Hammen, Greg (Laurie) Hammen, Keith (Deb) Hammen and Kathy (Joe) Lamers; grandchildren: Jason, Robby, Kurt, Laura, Dana, Craig, Christy, Carrie, Andy R., Andy, Rick, Brian, Jill, Kevin, Mike, Kate, Will, Mary, Trisha and Paul; 22 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law: Sally Giordana, Donna Giordana, Joan (Ken) Driessen, Jim (Alice) Hammen and Ikey Hammen; and countless nieces and nephews who she loved very dearly. Janice was preceded in death by her parents: Emil and Laura Giordana; father and mother-in-law: Bill and Ann Hammen; brothers: Carl (Dolores), Joe, Emil (Butter), Jim (Sally), Bob (Pope), Frank (Red) and Rich Giordana; sisters: Sr. Jilene Giordana, Phil (Rudy) Skalmusky, Mary (Heine) Hubert and Lucille (Sonny) Schmidt; brothers and sisters-in-law: Morris (Marie), Ambrose (Ceil), Ernie (Eunice), Izzy (Helen) and Bill Hammen, Doris (Butch) Vosters, Gerry (Fritz) Keyzers, Aggie (Ed) Schuler, Rhea (Paul) Balgie and Florence (Ed) Poppe. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25 (TODAY) at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, from 4-7 p.m. A rosary service will conclude the evening.
