Steven G. De Groot - “Steve” - Darboy - Age 65, was taken home to heaven on Nov. 2, 2021, on all souls day, due to multi system organ failure at UW Health in Madison. He is enjoying all of God’s love that he has always felt. Steve was born on Feb. 21, 1956, to his loving parents, Vin and Lee Ann, and his mom went to heaven on March 7, 2013. He lived in Little Chute until he met his future bride, Janie Weiland. They married on Oct. 6, 1978, being blessed with 43 years of marriage. Steve and Janie had difficult times which resulted in four miscarriages. But the good Lord would not leave then childless. They were blessed with their only child Angela. Steve had been busy working in business but truly came to be much more giving once he was employed at the Fox Cities Salvation Army. His eyes were opened to people truly in need. He took his job as operations manager sincerely and knew the good Lord gave him a job to open his eyes to others in need. He became a kinder and gentler Steve. Steve is lovingly survived by his dad: Deacon Vin De Groot; his wife who he only called Jane; daughter: Angela (Tyler) Reynolds; two grandchildren: Hunter and Starr. Steve was blessed with his loving siblings: Sue (Brad) Schroeder, Julie (David) Hietpas, Dave (Brenda) De Groot and Jim (Sharon) De Groot; in-laws: Judy (Jim) Van Boxtel, Jack (Judy), Jerry (Mary), Jay (Joan), Jesse (Sandy), Jeff (Anne), Joe (Deb) and Jane’s twin: Jamie (Lynn) Weiland; Godchildren: Corri Stuyvenberg, John Weiland, Nick Weiland, Megan Klubertanz and Annie Beyersdorf; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and last but not least, his beloved dog, Lexi. Steve was preceded in death by his loving mother: Lee Ann; grandparents: Henry and Agnes De Groot and Hattie and Albert Wynboom; Godparents: Florian “Chub” and Pearl De Groot; father and mother-in-law: Henry and Irene Weiland; several aunts and uncles; and four little babies that Steve finally got to meet in heaven. Steve had no fear of death. He witnessed heaven while coding after his transplant on Oct. 12, 2019. There are so many people that have touched both Steve and Jane. We were truly blessed with great neighbors that we called friends. We couldn’t have stayed living in our home through all the years Steve battled with health problems if it wasn’t for Pat Foth. Steve’s life and entering eternal life were celebrated on Nov. 13 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Memorials would be appreciated for Pillars and Vida Medical Clinic, Support Services and Youth Outreach programs. We know all the people who would like to attend Steve’s funeral cannot be there, so a livestream of the service is archived at www.stjn.org. We know Steve must have touched your lives in some way. We have been truly blessed first by God’s loving protection throughout our lives and all the people he brought into our lives. Steve, There’s no doubt God brought us together. I’m so thankful we both had loving parents who truly trusted in God and brought us up to believe in him to always take care of us if we believed in Him. We have been so blessed. I will always love you dearly. Jane
