Mimi Hauser

Mimi Hauser - Age 74, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, surrounded by the love of her husband and children. She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Oct. 10, 1947, and moved to Racine in 1954 with her parents, Lissy and Paul Ernst and her sister, Kate Ernst. She received her Registered Nurse Degree from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Racine. She worked at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah for many years and then went on to work in cardiac rehabilitation with Dr. John Haselow and then Dr. Edward Scanlan. Mimi then became a devoted health nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital and finished her career as the employee health nurse at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. She was dedicated to her professional life and was always there to help others. Mimi loved camping with her family, enjoyed running many races and marathons, participated in triathlons and loved to bike the Wisconsin Trail system. Mimi’s strong faith guided her throughout her life. Later in life, she became an active member and official Greeter at Christ the Rock Community Church where her remarkable gift of serving and loving others will always be remembered. Mimi is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years: John Hauser; her son: Scott and his wife: Becky Hauser; her daughter: Krista; and her husband: Tony Chaves; her grandchildren: Quetzal, Trogon, Connor; step-granddaughter: Josslyn; and her sister: Kate Ernst and her partner: Sid Keith. Mimi was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed not only by her family, but by all those who loved her and all those whose lives she touched. Mimi’s Celebration of Life will be held at Christ the Rock Community Church 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The visitation time will be held from 5 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established for the Salvation Army.
