Roger Van Eperen

Roger Van Eperen - Appleton - Age 90 died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at home at Eagle Point Senior Living. He was born Oct. 26, 1933, son of the late Bernard and Rose Van Eperen. On Dec. 30, 1954, Roger married Doloris Verheyen. She preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 2006. He married Judy Weiss on April 18, 2009.  Roger served in the Army for two years in Washington state. They moved to Hollandtown in 1956 where he worked at White Clover Dairy for 25 years. In 1979, Roger and Doloris founded Holland Cold Storage with Bill and Dorothy Lamers where he worked until his retirement after 30 years. Roger was also a member of the Hollandtown Volunteer Fire Department, a Town of Holland supervisor for 30 years, one of the founders of the Hollandtown Community Park, and a lifelong member of St. Francis Catholic Church.  Roger is survived by his wife: Judy; children: Dennis (Kay) Van Eperen, Jeff (Sue) Van Eperen, Barb (Tom) Brochtrup, Dave (Joan) Van Eperen, Cheri (Todd) Schultz, Shelly (Paul) Bowers; grandchildren: Jason (Denise) Van Eperen, Amy (Terence) Fayne, Scott (Megan), Mark (Lexi), Brian (Tiffany) Van Eperen, Erin (John) Van Rooy, Brad (Sarah) Brochtrup, Sara (Miles) Weber, Kristin (Tom) Myers, Dan (Gabriela) Van Eperen, Katie (Cody) Schneider, Tim (Anna) Van Eperen, Megan (Jon) Thomas, Dani (special friend Cody) Schultz, Nicole (Matt) Gilson, Kevin (special friend Darbi) Bowers; and 28 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by Judy’s children: Chuck (Robin), Andy (Kari), Bill (Laura) Weiss, 12 step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings: Elaine Reitz, Dorothy Lamers, Mary Kalies, Maureen Van Zeeland, and Dan (Diane) Van Eperen; in-laws: Rosie Van Eperen, Colette Van Eperen; Doloris’ siblings: Patricia Haen-Schuette, Marilyn Landreman, Glen (Vanessa) Verheyen; and sister-in-law: Lois Verheyen; and Judy’s siblings: Margaret Moser, Peter Dehler, Joan (Leon) Schmidt, Paul (Marcy) Dehler, Mary (Mark) Theisen, Dorothy Bunke, Cecilia Wessel, Joe (Chris), Frank (Shirley), and Albert (Sandy) Dehler.  He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter: Mackenzie Van Eperen, brothers: Jerry and Marv Van Eperen; brothers-in-law: Don Reitz, Bill Lamers, Ken Kalies, Tom Van Zeeland, Bill Verheyen, Jack Haen, Fred Schuette and John Landreman. His Funeral Mass was held Oct. 28 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church (St. Francis site) Hollandtown with Father Luke Ferris officiating. The family would like to thank Micki and the rest of Dad’s caregivers from Moments Hospice, Chaplain Peter and the staff at Eagle Point Senior Living.
