Bernice M. Blohm

Bernice M. Blohm Little Chute Age 95, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by her family on July 7, 2025. Bernice was born on Sept. 19, 1929, in Little Chute, and attended St. John High School, where she proudly graduated as the valedictorian of her Class of 1947. She often reminded her family and friends that she may be the brightest light in the room based upon this wonderful accomplishment. Her quick wit, great sense of humor and unfiltered candidness let everyone know where they stood. In 1951, Bernice married Patrick Blohm and they celebrated more than 60 years of marriage, prior to Pat’s passing in 2011. Together they raised an active family of six children: Mary (John) Kolosso, Menasha; and their children: Ryan (Heather), Trisha and Troy (Kelly). Kennedy, Ireland, Finn, Faith, Madelyn, Clay and Ava. Steve (Mary), Lake Geneva; and their children: Becky (Nick) Pobutsky and Matt (Molly). Patrick, Maddy, Rome and Lyla. Deb (Dan) Valentyn, Little Chute; and their children: Eric (Tasha), Ross (Jackie), Reverend Scott and Robb Valentyn. Olivia, Ryder, Blake, Natalie and Logan. Jane (passed in 2016) (Dan) Van Den Heuvel, Little Chute; and their children: Kevin (Nicole), Kurt (Whitney) and Alyssa (Steven) Gates. Ella, Brooke, Hunter, Gracie, Micah, Marlie, Ivie and Archie. Barb (Dick) Van Grinsven, Chilton; and their children: Heidi (Luke) Gardner, Holly (Adam) Tittman and Gretchen (Brandon) Krupp. Evelyn, Brayden, Claire, Charlotte, Briggs, Hattie and Knox. Tim (Jodi), Brookfield; and their son: Garrett. Their family continued to grow with the addition of 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Bernice and Pat were very busy attending the sporting events and school activities of all their children and grandchildren. Bernice was very passionate about her Catholic faith and often carried multiple rosaries and prayer books. In addition, she was blessed to have one of her grandchildren ordained as a Catholic priest, Father Scott Valentyn. She enjoyed her trip to Rome to visit Father Scott as he finished his studies. Bernice and Pat enjoyed a large circle of friends and often they would travel throughout the USA on golf/friendship trips. There were so many great stories and memories with these long-time friends. Bernice was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan. Road trips and tailgating provided them with wonderful times. Bernice is survived by her sister-in-law: Betty Vander Wyst. In addition to her husband, Patrick and daughter: Jane; Bernice was preceded in death by her sisters: Margaret Vandenberg and Dorothy Van Deurzen; brothers: Joe Vander Wyst, Richard Vander Wyst and Roger Vander Wyst; brothers-in-law: Jim Van Deurzen, Ray Vandenberg and Robert Blohm. Funeral services were held July 14 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Interment was in the parish cemetery. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com.
