"Jerry" Kaukauna

Gerald Vanevenhoven - “Jerry” - Kaukauna Age 75, passed away on Sept. 1, 2025, having fought a difficult journey with brain cancer. Jerry enjoyed woodworking and built his home with his friend, Bob Schottmuller. He taught at Little Chute High School, was a safety consultant for Wausau Insurance, and later for ISI in Appleton. At each place, he made wonderful friends who he stayed in contact with. Jerry truly enjoyed spending time with his family – camping for many years and his favorite pastime, fishing with son Ryan on the Wolf River, Lake Winnebago, and up north. Jerry and Linda enjoyed traveling with friends and went south for part of winter. They especially loved visiting their sons in North Carolina and Florida. He dearly loved his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, and high school sweetheart: Linda; sons: Adam (Elizabeth) Vanevenhoven of Appleton; Alan (Bridget) Vanevenhoven of Charlotte, N.C.; and Ryan Vanevenhoven of Appleton; grandchildren: Victoria, Madison, Aiden, Luna Vanevenhoven, and his best buddy: Drake Vanevenhoven; brother: Lee (Judy) Vanevenhoven; sister-in-law: Jan Vanevenhoven; and Linda’s family: Cindy (Dave) Vander Zanden, Deb (Greg) Sprangers, Jim Janssen, Steve (Joan) Janssen, Mike (Tammy) Janssen, and Anne Reschke. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Cliff and Gertrude Vanevenhoven; brother: Dennis Vanevenhoven; second parents: Merlin and Joyce Janssen; nephews: Nicholas and Michael Vander Zanden; brother-in-law: Randy Reschke; and lovely niece: Ally Reschke. Visitation will be held Sept. 13, at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna) from 9-10:45 a.m. His funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating.
