Team Industries creates new Kaukauna High School signage


Brian Roebke photo — Kaukauna manufacturing company Team Industries, which works with KHS and its co-op program, contacted Kaukauna High School administration to build a new school sign when they heard the high cost quoted them by a sign company. KHS graduates Matt Grissman, Nick Rieth, and Bill Hammen worked on the sign that was built by Team at no cost to the school district.

Publicity around the desire of the Kaukauna Area School District’s Board of Education to add a welcome sign in front of Kaukauna High School by the galloping ghost bronze statue resulted in a great win-win situation for the district and one of its biggest supporters.

Four departments respond to Buchanan fire


Submitted photo — The Combined Locks Fire & Rescue Department was the first department on the scene of a large playhouse fire on Weiler Road in the Town of Buchanan last week.
Combined Locks Fire & Rescue and Town of Buchanan Fire and Rescue, along with mutual aid from Hollandtown Fire Department and Wrightstown Fire Department were dispatched to an address on Weiler Road in the Town of Buchanan for    a report of a structure fire Friday afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Kaukauna football fans were detoured off Interstate 41 Friday night returning home from Ashwaubenon because of a car-pedestrian crash that killed a 40-year-old man from Green Bay whose car was later found parked on the side of the road with its flashers on. The driver of the striking vehicle was not hurt, but the vehicle was damaged.
