FCC to require 10-digit dialing code for Wisconsin residents beginning Oct. 24

Beginning Oct. 24, 2021, all customers with the area codes 262, 414, 608, and 920 need to dial the area code and telephone number in order to connect their local and long-distance calls. This will apply to all calls that are currently dialed with seven digits.

Kaukauna native wins special election for seat in state assembly


Submitted photo/Kaukauna native William Penterman was the winner of a special election held last week to fill Wisconsin’s vacant 37th District Assembly seat that was vacated when John Jagler was elected state senator. The Republican who lives in Columbus with his wife Abby received 3,742 votes compared to 3,063 votes for his Democratic opponent.

WisDOT sets public hearing for I-41 project


Brian Roebke photo/The Wisconsin Department of Transporation is proposing to reconstruct the overhead bridge on Interstate 41 over Highway 55 (Delanglade Street) in Kaukauna.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is going full speed ahead on the expansion of Interstate 41 from Highway 96 (Wisconsin Avenue) in Appleton to Highway F (Scheuring Road) in De Pere and has three public hearings set for later this month.
