CDC report: Nearly a third of U.S. high school students currently use e-cigarettes

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new data last week showing that 32.7 percent of U.S. high school students reported currently using e-cigarettes in 2019, compared to 24.1 percent in 2015.

Highway 96 construction finishes in Kaukauna

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region office completed all major construction on the Highway 96 urban reconstruction project in the city of Kaukauna. Crews reopened the highway between Lawe Street and Claribel Street on Aug. 31 after closing for construction on April 6.

Gov. Evers offers additional CARES Act funds for early care and education

Gov. Tony Evers is providing an additional $30 million of federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act dollars are being directed toward supporting early care and education providers. The additional funds will allow the Department of Children and Families to conduct an additional round of Child Care Counts payments.

CE trail extension open, rest of road soon

Outagamie County crews opened the newly-constructed portion of the CE trail for pedestrian and bicycle traffic last week. Pedestrians should keep in mind that work continues on the road project and beware of the dangers that may be present near the work zone.
