Executive Director of Business Services and Sustainability Becky Hansen presented the Kimberly Area School District Board of Education with final budget numbers at its regular meeting last Monday evening.

The Kaukauna Area School District’s Board of Education approved its 2020-21 budget and tax levy last week, including charging taxpayers $1.1 million for vouchers for students who live inside the school district but attend private voucher schools as part of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program.

It’s been an unusual start of the school year in America but the Kaukauna Area School District is doing about as well as could be hoped for.

Historically, Kaukauna High School's Technology and Engineering program has utilized grants to continuously upgrade equipment and provide cutting-edge, industry-relatable tools for student learning and spent countless hours working with area businesses to provide students opportunities for real-world, hands-on experiences.

At its annual meeting, the Little Chute School Board approved a projected tax levy for 2020-21 at $5,359,229 and a mill rate of $9.03.

The Kimberly Area School District presented its board of education with the official September, third-Friday enrollment report at its regular meeting last Monday.

Enrollments have been declining across the district in recent years, but the numbers for 2020-21 have declined more significantly than in past years.

The Kaukauna Area School District has unveiled a dashboard of information related to its Stronger Together Re-opening plan.

The good news is “the trajectory has slowed,” Superintendent Mark Duerwaechter told the board of education at its Oct. 12 meeting.

Dex, a downy-soft Labradoodle, began working at the Little Chute Middle, Intermediate and High Schools last week, the day after the Little Chute School Board approved a policy governing therapy dogs in schools.

The Kimberly Area School District last Monday night held its 2020 Budget Hearing and Annual Meeting after a brief COVID update and continuing discussion amongst school board members.

Since Kaukauna students went back to school on Sept. 1, most of them have stayed in school during the coronavirus pandemic. Keeping most of them in school requires the cooperation of people in the community.
