Kimberly alum EJ Kruse has provided both a spark and leadership during his time on the UW-Milwaukee track and field team. The fourth year track runner has become a vocal leader along with providing mentorship toward underclassmen such as Jack Statz and Ethan Criter.

Second year head coach Mike Jenkins is looking for his young players to step up this season. After the graduation of players like Jake Lucas, the Ghosts will need some players to step up in their pitching rotation this season.

In his third year at the helm, Kimberly softball coach Chad Mix still thinks his team is in good shape this year despite losing seven players to graduation. The Papermakers return two key players in the infield this year, but will look for some players in the pitching staff.

Duke commit Kon Knueppel put on show last weekend as he scored 41 points during the first game of the 55th annual Holy Cross Men’s Open at St. Ignatius high school.

A new coach is at the helm of the Little Chute baseball program, and it is a familiar one to the area. Luke Gajewski takes over for Dean Birling after spending a year off from coaching. He spent two years as head coach of the Kaukauna baseball program.

Indiana State commit Campbell Roberts led the way for the Kimberly Papermakers track team last week. Roberts took first in the pole vault during the Pam Kjono invite at Manitowoc Lincoln High School.

Despite losing a couple of key pieces from the last two championship runs, the goals have stayed the same for the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts softball team as they look to make it four straight state championships this season.

OSHKOSH - The Kimberly boys lacrosse team got their first season of varsity play off to a good start last week. The Papermakers earned their first win of the season in a 17-1 win over Oak Creek at the Dome in Oshkosh last Saturday.
