Kaukauna baseball starts conference season holding late leads

The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts baseball team held on to two late leads to get in their two wins last week. The Ghosts used late inning scoring to get a win over Fond du Lac and made sure eight runs stood up against Appleton West as the team has started 2-2 on the season.

Kaukauna tennis falls to West De Pere

Justin Sprangers led the way for the Kaukauna tennis team last week as he notched the team’s lone win in a 6-1 loss to West De Pere on the road. Sprangers won his match in No. 2 singles over Kadyn Shaw in a third set tiebreaker (6-0, 4-6, 10-5).

The Kimberly tennis team earned a pair of 6-1 wins last week as the team played in a quad in Mantiowoc last Saturday. The Papermakers beat Slinger and Manitowoc Lincoln with the team sweeping the singles matches against the Indians.

Poggeman takes first in two events for Kimberly track and field teams

Carly Poggemann took first in two events last week as the Kimberly track and field teams participated in a triangular at Appleton East. Poggemann had a time of 17.02 in the 100 meter hurdles, while also running a time of 50.58 in the 300 meter hurdles.

Carson Van Dinter and Emma Sippel both took home two first place finishes at last week’s home triangular against Appleton North and Hortonville. Both took first in the 100 and 200 meter dashes for the Ghosts.

Hanes scores two hat tricks for Kimberly soccer team

Senah Hanes helped the Kimberly soccer team start their conference season on a solid note. The UW-Green Bay commit scored four goals for the Papermakers with three in the first half against Appleton West last week.
