Wildes gets buzzer beater in Kimberly’s OT win

Mikey Wildes came up clutch for the Kimberly boys basketball team last week in a 53-51 overtime win against Fond du Lac at home. After a Thomas Meyers missed three late in overtime, Wildes grabbed the miss in the air inside and threw it up for the buzzer beating shot.

The Kimberly Papermakers girls basketball team proved too much for the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts as five Papermakers scored in double figures during the 79-48 win for Kimberly at home.

The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts used scoring runs when they needed them last week against conference rivals from up the road. The Ghosts used two 7-0 runs during the game before using a 13-2 run to help secure the win.

HOWARD - The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts wrestling team will again have the chance to earn another championship at team state in Madison. The Ghosts earned wins over Pulaski and Bay Port last week to earn their chance at a fourth consecutive state championship.

It took a while but the Kaukauna boys pulled away from Oshkosh West Friday night, 76-59 after holding just a three-point lead at halftime in the Fox Valley association game played at Kaukauna. 
Head Coach Mike Schalow bemoaned his team’s start.
