Theresa Reimers

"Terry"

Theresa Margaret Reimers (Buchinger) “Terry” Age 76, passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 11, 1948, to John M. and Helen M. (Schmit) Buchinger. She grew up in the rural areas of Seymour and Kaukauna. Terry was a licensed practical nurse for more than 30 years. Her most notable work was at St. Elizabeth in Appleton, and St. Joseph Residence in New London. Her dedication to caring for others continued as a nail technician for 10 years. Terry married Carl Reimers on June 26, 1981. They spent most of their lives together in New London, where they successfully blended their families and nurtured their daughters with love and care. They enjoyed traveling together and exploring different areas of Wisconsin and the United States. They would travel with family and friends, visit their daughters, and explore national parks. Terry was a people-person, known for her bubbly personality and outgoing laugh. She had a beautiful singing voice and shared it as a chorus and choir member. Terry was often called on stage during performances, most notably when visiting Branson, Mo. Terry liked to entertain and frequently had family and friends over where she cooked and baked. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing cards and games, and reading. She is survived by her husband: Carl Reimers; daughters: Kara (Mike) Sparkman, Florida, and Candy (Terry) Bolin, Oregon; grandchildren: Olivia (Ryan) Redican and Jacob (Kyrsten) Mosley. Terry was teasingly and affectionately called the “matriarch of the family.” She is further survived by her siblings: Anna (Carl) Scharenberg, Kansas, Dennis (Polly) Buchinger, Kaukauna, and John Buchinger, Menasha. She was exceptionally close to her nieces and nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Anthony “Tony” Buchinger. Funeral services will be held on Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at Appleton Highland Memorial Chapel, 3131 North Richmond St., Appleton. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. Reverend Lynn Martin will be officiating. We are deeply grateful to those who supported Terry and us during her journey, from her surgery and rehab after the brain tumor, through her final days in hospice. This includes Rennes Health & Rehab Center, the ThedaCare hospice team, Cherry Meadows hospice, and Brewster Village.
