Tom Nytes - Kaukauna - Age 89, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Dec. 4, 2025 – his 89th birthday. Tom was the youngest child of Frank and Edith Nytes of rural Kaukauna. Tom attended St. Mary Grade School and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1954. He was a proud member of the school’s 1953 state championship baseball team, where he was the starting catcher. He graduated from St. Norbert College in 1958 with a degree in business administration and accounting. On Easter Sunday 1958, Tom lost his left leg in a serious car accident. He never viewed himself as handicapped, and was independent until the very end. He met Eenie Campbell at the Shamrock Bar on St. Patrick’s Day 1960. They married in May 1961, and shared 64 wonderful years, raising four children. In 1966, Tom became the first business manager at the Kaukauna Area School District. He remained in that job for 29 years, managing the district growth before retiring in 1995. After retirement, Tom and Eenie were snowbirds, splitting time between their cottage in Lakewood and a house at The Hamptons in Auburndale, Fla. They enjoyed traveling to multiple countries, golfing, volunteering and socializing with friends. They also enjoyed spending time with the children and grandchildren. They returned to their Kaukauna roots full time in 2023. Tom is survived by his wife: Eenie, and four children: Sue (Bruce), Sara (Jay), Connie (John) and Steve (Wanda). He was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Steve (Anna), Mark, Becky (Cole), Jake, Zach, Jackson (Megan), Julia, Greta, Abby, Nicole (Luke), Tommy, Aidan; and great-grandchildren: Clay, Allie, Lex, Van and baby Miller.
