Kaukauna girls complete six-game win streak before loss at Neenah

The Kaukauna girls’ basketball team was up and down to begin the season. The Ghosts won their first three games, lost their next three, and then beat Oshkosh North and lost to Slinger to start the season 4-4.

The Fox Cities Stars boys’ hockey team earned its first victory of the season last week with a 7-5 win on the road at Shawano/Bondel/Clintonville Tuesday and nearly added its second, ultimately losing by just one goal, 5-4, at home against Appleton United on Saturday.

The Kaukauna boys basketball team sleepwalked through more than half its game against Appleton North but after falling behind by 19 points in the second, the Ghosts stormed back to stun the Lightning 66-62 in overtime.

Stars earn first win of season after losing three straight over Christmas break

The Fox Cities Stars boys’ hockey team picked up its first win last night, but dropped three games over the holiday break.

The Stars lost 8-2 on the road at De Pere last Tuesday before dropping games on back-to-back nights this past weekend, 6-0 against Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha on Saturday and 7-1 at Marquette on Sunday.

Kimberly girls rout East, Bay Port prior to Neenah loss

Last Tuesday night’s matchup between Kimberly and Appleton East, two of the top teams in the state in Division 1, was sure to be close. The Papermakers’ defensive effort in the first half, however, made the game anything but as Kimberly cruised to a 20-point, 77-57 win over the Patriots.
