Papermakers' baseball continues undefeated start with two more FVA victories

The day before Kimberly’s win at the Ghosts, Jake Huntington started and went 4 1/3 shutout innings, scattering three hits and striking out five, while Al Leitner went 2 2/3 scoreless in relief as the Papermakers shut out Neenah in a 4-0 win.

Big first inning leads Kimberly baseball to win at Ghosts

A first inning rally, which featured the Papermakers putting together a string of hits and base runners  — compounded by two Kaukauna errors — gave Kimberly a 5-0 lead it never relinquished in a road win over the Ghosts at Bayorgeon Field Friday afternoon.

Kimberly began its week with a loss at Kaukauna, but then strung two wins together — at Appleton West and at Hortonville (in dramatic fashion) — before losing a non-conference game to Green Bay Preble to close out the week.

Kaukauna’s one-run win over Kimberly began last week, but the Ghosts went right back to work with games on Wednesday and Thursday and three more on Saturday. The only loss of the week came Wednesday evening against Oshkosh West.

Little Chute softball nearly earns first win at Oconto Falls

The Little Chute softball team played twice last week, first a road game at Freedom Tuesday followed by a road game at Oconto Falls Thursday. 
Up until this week it’s been a rough go for the Mustangs, but Thursday’s game against the Panthers showed some signs of life from Little Chute.

The Little Chute boys finished first in both the Two Rivers Invitational on Friday and a triangular at home Tuesday, while the girls also joined in with a first-place finish in Two Rivers and nabbed a second-place finish in the home tri.

Kimberly baseball remains undefeated with two more wins

Behind two stellar performances on the mound from three different pitchers, the Kimberly baseball team allowed just two runs in two wins last week to move to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 to begin Fox Valley Association play: a shutout win at home against Fond du Lac Tuesday and a win against Appleton East Saturday.
