Kaukauna boys open FVA season with wins at tourney, West

The Kaukauna boys’ volleyball team began the season 7-0 with seven non-conference victories – including four wins over four different top-6 teams in the state in a two-day stretch – and moved to 8-0 with a 3-0 road win at Appleton West last Tuesday night.

Kinas ties 9-hole school record as Kaukauna girls’ golf finishes second at Fond du Lac Invitational


Submitted photo/Kaukauna’s Alexa Kinas tied a school-record for a nine-hole score by shooting a 37 on the back nine at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Fond du Lac Saturday.
Sophomore Alexa Kinas shot a 37 on the back nine of Saturday’s Fond du Lac Invite, tying a school record for a nine-hole score on her way to an 80 overall and a fifth-place finish as the Ghosts ended the day second as a team.
“An awesome round,” Kaukauna Co-Head Coach Pete Benson said of Kinas’ day.

Ghosts bounce back from North loss with rout of Spartans

Leading 13-0 at halftime, the Kaukauna offense made some adjustments heading into the second half. Whatever Head Coach Matt Binsfeld and staff changed sure worked out swimmingly as the Ghosts outscored Oshkosh North 33-14 over the final two quarters on their way to a 46-14 win at home Friday night.

Behind 48s from both Peyton Lueneburg and Jenna Schumacher, the Kimberly girls’ golf team beat Appleton West 205-223 last Tuesday at home at Countryside Golf Course.
The Papermakers had six of the seven lowest scores of the afternoon.

Little Chute boys’, girls’ cross country finish second in Kiel

The Little boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both grabbed second-place finishes at last Thursday’s Kiel Invite.
The Mustang girls were led by Ella Pahl’s fourth-overall finish in 16 minutes, 6 seconds. Jessica Wilson gave the girls another top-10 finish as she took ninth place with a time of 16:44.
