Kimberly avenges early-season loss with 87-71 road win at Neenah

Kaukauna girls end regular season on high note with win over Neenah

The Kaukauna girls had a chance to win back-to-back games against two of the top teams in the Fox Valley Association last Thursday night, but the Ghosts’ game against second-place Appleton East was cancelled due to weather. So instead, Kaukauna will have to settle for ending its regular season with a 76-70 home win over Neenah last Monday.

Janssen returns to state for Little Chute wrestling team

SEYMOUR — Little Chute junior wrestler Matthew Janssen got a pin to win a berth in this weekend’s WIAA Division 2 state championship meet with time running out in the first period of his 195-lb. wrestleback match Saturday at Seymour High School.

Janssen made it to state the hard way, wrestling five matches instead of a possible three.

Six Kimberly wrestlers moving on to sectional meet

In one of the tougher regionals in the state that featured three of the five best teams in the Fox Valley Association as well as two teams ranked in the top five in Division 1 and 26 ranked wrestlers in D1, the Kimberly wrestling team advanced six individuals to sectionals with first- or second-place finishes Saturday at Kaukauna High School.

Little Chute boys 10-5 in NEC heading into final week

Versus Oconto Falls

Little Chute’s second and final game of the week came Friday night at home where the Mustangs’ responded from their loss against Denmark earlier in the week by taking care of Oconto Falls 56-35.

Little Chute jumped out to a 36-13 lead at the break and held on the rest of the way.

Little Chute advances three to sectionals

The Little Chute wrestling team advanced three past regionals and into sectionals Saturday as Carter Kruckeberg (132) finished second, Noah Kilgas (145) finished second and Matthew Janssen (195) finished first.
