The Little Chute boys’ and girls’ cross country teams each came away with second-place finishes at a North Eastern Conference meet Friday afternoon.
Riley Huss earned a first-place finish for the boys, ending up with a time of 16 minutes, 20 seconds as the Mustangs finished with 38 points as a team, 10 behind first-place Freedom.
The Kimberly boys and girls travelled to Memorial Park in Neenah to face off against Hortonville in a Fox Valley Association cross country duel with the girls taking down the Polar Bears 15-49 behind a 1-5 finish and the boys won 23-32 with four runners in the top five.
The Kimberly girls’ golf team was led by Maddie Kiley and Peyton Lueneburg, who each finished the afternoon with a 43 on Wednesday, but the Makers fell 15 strokes shy of a win, falling 181-196 to Hortonville at Countryside.
This past offseason has likely been the weirdest on record. But, at least for now, some teams in the area are able to put that behind them and get back to some sense of normalcy.
The Kaukauna girls’ golf team took part in the Notre Dame Invite at Thornberry Creek Golf Course on Monday, splitting into two teams to get nine girls varsity experience before shooting a 195 on Thursday to beat Neenah in a Fox Valley Association match.
The Kaukauna girls’ cross country team continued its stellar season on Friday, crushing Neenah by 34 points on the road at Memorial Park, while the boys finished 17 points behind the Rockets.
