Matthew Janssen is a fierce competitor on the gridiron and while also a respectful young man, he got to play one final football game of his high school career Saturday that had a little less at stake than winning or losing.
Scott Schreiber is coming off a career season in professional baseball, but then he hit a setback. The Kimberly High School product has yet to play this season after undergoing surgery in April to repair a herniated disc.

Carson Sippel of Kaukauna was one of the stars for the Large School North team during Saturday’s Football Coaches Association High School All-Star Classic at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.
Drew Joten was a key standout as he helped Little Chute grab four wins last week. Joten had eight hits as the Mustangs swept double headers against Green Bay and Omro’s legion teams.
Carter Erdman was the offensive standout last week for the Kimberly Cougars Legion baseball team. Erdman collected six hits in the team’s six games during the week.
The Steinekes helped provide some offense for the Kaukauna Angels legion baseball team last week. Carter had two hits against Ahnapee, while Sawyer had two hits and struck out two in a loss to New London.

Kaukauna student athlete Aaron Schimke has added another milestone to his running career. The WIAA state participant this spring defeated Olympic record holder Allen Webb in Kaukauna’s Firecracker run on July 4.
Grant Gloudemans led the way for the Kimberly legion baseball team as the Cougars split their games against the Omro Foxes Legion team last week. Gloudemans struck out four on the mound and grabbed two hits offensively in two games as the team improved to 6-3 on the summer.
