Kaukauna boys, girls both win Gary Reybrock Invitational

The Kaukauna boys and girls track teams both made the short trip to Little Chute for the Mustangs’ annual spring invite, this year renamed the Gary Reybrock Invitational, and ran away from the field as both teams came home with first-place finishes.

Little Chute boys, girls both finish second at annual invitational


Brian Roebke photo/Little Chute’s Alyssa Hutcherson won both the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the Gary Reybrock Invite Saturday. Hutcherson also finished first in the triple jump.
The Mustangs’ annual home invitational — this year christened the Gary Reybrock Invitational — featured nine teams from around the state, and with 138.5 points and 160 points, respectively, the Little Chute boys and girls both finished second on their home turf, so to speak, Saturday.

Mustangs remain unbeaten in NEC heading into big week


File photo/Sophomore Drew Joten continues to be one of the leaders on Little Chute’s 10-1 team. Joten had two hits and two RBI in a win against Peshtigo last week and threw 6 2/3 of shutout ball in a win against Waupaca.
Before losing two crucial games against conference-leading Denmark Monday and Tuesday, the Little Chute baseball team continued its unbeaten run in a string of games last week.

Kaukauna softball holds off Kimberly in final inning for 5-4 win

The Kaukauna softball team scored one run in the first inning, two more in the second, another in the third and another in the fourth to grab a 5-0 lead over Kimberly as the two rivals squared off last Tuesday afternoon.

High school shot clock allowed by state adoption for 2022-23 season

Beginning with the 2022-23 season, a 35-second shot clock will be permitted in high school basketball games by state association adoption. A proposal for a national rule mandating a shot clock was not approved.

Little Chute girls’ soccer routs Truckers in 10-0 home victory

The Mustang girls’ soccer team hosted Clintonville on Thursday and routed the Truckers 10-0 behind five goals from sophomore forward Averi Harper.
Harper found the back of the net to kick off the scoring for Little Chute before Morgan Trzebiatowski followed with a goal of her own.

The boys’ tennis season got underway last Tuesday with a road matchup against Oshkosh West, and despite picking up wins from their number 2, 3 and 4 singles players, the Papermakers fell to the Wildcats 4-3.

Kimberly track hosts FVA triangular to begin 2021 spring season

The Kimberly track team hosted a triangular last Monday afternoon alongside Fox Valley Association foes Oshkosh West and Appleton West to get its spring season underway.
The girls were paced by a school-record 149 feet, 1 inch throw in the discus by Kayla Behnke, which beat Emily LaCount’s then-record 139-1 from 2015.

Kimberly girls’ soccer blows out West, Pulaski, draws with Fondy

The Kimberly girls’ soccer team moved to 3-1-1 after two wins and a draw this past week. The Papermakers routed Appleton West 10-0 on Tuesday before a draw on the road at Fond du Lac. Kimberly then closed out the week with another blowout, this time 8-0 at home against Pulaski in a non-conference match.
