The Kimberly Papermakers girls soccer ended their regular season on a winning note as Marie Van Zeeland scored two goals in 2-1 win over Fond du Lac. Van Zeeland scored off an Ashlyn Krueger assist in the 23rd minute before scoring on a Breanna Wilson assist in the 60th minute.
The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts used dominant pitching from Virginia commit Karly Meredith and a five run fifth to advance to another sectional appearance this week.
The Kimberly Papermakers softball team used their power to advance to sectionals. Breckan Luedke and Sophie Hermus had multiple home runs as the Papermakers used their home run power to get playoff wins over Appleton West and De Pere.
After losing their final conference game against their rivals from Wrightstown, the Little Chute Mustangs started their playoff run in style by getting a no-hitter against Clintonville in the first round of the playoffs.
Hunter Sprangers, Kristin Behnke and Alejandro Pagan-Vega will represent Kimberly track and field in multiple events this week at the state meet in La Crosse.
The Little Chute Mustangs track and field teams are sending six relay teams to this week’s state meet in La Crosse. The Mustangs also are sending eight representatives in the individual events to this year’s state meet.
Kaukauna junior Reese Fauske had the most incredible finish out of any area runner at last week’s sectional meets. At the West De Pere sectional, Fauske added to her family track legacy by winning the girls 3200 meter run after starting the final lap of the event in fifth place.

Kaukauna High School basketball coach Mike Schalow announced his retirement from teaching and coaching to the team on May 21. He coached in Kaukauna 728 games for his 30 years.
