The Kimberly Papermakers boys basketball team is on a roll of late as the team has won six of their last seven games. The team has rattled off three of them with their best scorer, Seth Miron, out with an ankle sprain.
The Little Chute boys basketball team is still on a surge despite their first loss of the season last week. After taking a loss to Wrightstown at home, the Mustangs bounced back with a win against Denmark.
The Kaukauna wrestling team had a dominant performance last week as they had four wrestlers take first en route to a first place finish in the Pulaski invite. The Ghosts had 275.5 points, which was 77 points ahead of second place finisher Luxemburg-Casco.
Michael Asman will be taking his talents down the road next year as he recently made his college commitment announcement on where he will play basketball. The senior will continue his basketball career at Ripon College.
Senior Jack Statz will run track and field at UW-Milwaukee next fall. A state relay team member for Kimberly saw his potential college team as a great fit.
The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts gymnastics team placed fifth in an invite at Valders High School last week. The Ghosts had a score of 113.125 points and were about around three points away from finishing third in the event on Jan. 21.
Blake Barry and Cameron Perkovich both earned wins for the Kimberly wrestling team last week. Barry had a first round win by fall in 1:22 over South Milwaukee’s Devon Talavera, while Perkovich won a quarterfinal match in a 4-2 decision over Homestead’s George Jones.
In their first game without senior Seth Miron, the Kimberly Papermakers boys basketball team had some guys step up. The team had three double-digit scorers in their 63-59 win over Hortonville last week.
