Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach and Brown County Public Health Officer Anna Nick held a press conference Thursday with Brown County department leaders about the current fentanyl crisis. “We cannot solve this problem alone,” he said. “We need the community to come forward, we need to have real conversations with our family members, our children, to talk about the dangers of fentanyl and how it can take your life just like that.”

Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach, with the support of Brown County Public Health Officer Anna Nick, has declared fentanyl a community health crisis in the county on Sept. 1 as the county began to observe Recovery Month.
Changing state laws and the need to upgrade an original survey done in 1985 means the Village of Sherwood is headed toward some type of new tree inventory survey according to matter discussed during the Aug. 22 village board meeting.
Repair plans for the County Road CC/Rose Hill Road bridge over I-41 in the village of Little Chute begin tomorrow according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region. An over-height vehicle struck the bridge on Aug. 3, damaging a girder of the structure.
The City of Kaukauna Common Council has approved a referendum question asking “Shall the City of Kaukauna, Outagamie County, Wisconsin change the City Attorney position from elected to a hired position?” This referendum question will be voted on by residents in the Nov. 8 election.
The Kimberly School Board is looking to develop a collective statement in 2022. The statement will help establish an ideal state of belonging in the district community.

Ellen Scheibe purchased a “dollhouse” home online that looked similar to Mary (Runte) Bossert’s family home and altered it to look more like the home on Wilson Street that’s 100 years old.
Mary (Runte) Bossert is now residing at Care Partners, but she lovingly reminisces about a very special home on Wilson Street, so familiar to many Kaukauna residents, and those who have visited White City Park over the years.
