Changes made during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in Kaukauna now are under review by the city staff members and came into focus during the Aug. 15 meeting of the city’s Legislative Committee.
A draft plan for the Friendship Trail, connecting Menasha with High Cliff, was introduced by Jody Rader of the consulting firm of HKgI at last week’s Harrison Village Board meeting.
The Kimberly Village Board last week approved a payment in the amount of $439,663.14 for Don Hietpas and Sons, Inc. for work on the Kimberly Avenue water main reconstruction.
The main item on the Wednesday, Aug. 17, Little Chute Village Board agenda was a public hearing regarding a potential zoning change for property at 1401 W. Evergreen Dr.

Jodi Sweeney of the Sweeney Group, a business that studies funding projects, suggested Kaukauna could create a city-wide effort like “Forward Neenah” that deals with important city efforts and brings together residents and businesses to fund improvements at the Kaukauna Swimming Pool. The funding effort could offer current and former residents a place to donate funds to the city while also creating a source of funding for a number of community projects.

There were 52 shooters in the event, held at Triple J Wing & Clay in Brillion, with 1,247 shots fired in 23 rounds of shooting. Kaitlin Demoske shot the head, Carl Bowers Jr. got the tail for the second consecutive year, and wings were shot by Brandon Lamers and Kevin Bowers.
Still another residential development is moving forward in Sherwood and this one came with some good news for the village as reported during the Aug. 8 village board meeting.
