FREEDOM — The deeper into the high school football postseason teams get, the tighter the margins of victory become. Sometimes one or two big plays can make or break a game.
Unfortunately for Little Chute, that was the case in the Mustangs Level 2 matchup with rival Freedom Friday night.

The Kimberly boys soccer team won its first Fox Valley Association championship in a half decade with a win over Appleton North in the regular-season finale on Oct. 12.

The Kaukauna boys soccer team had a fairly uneventful regular season, but the Ghosts played well enough to draw a No. 2 seed in a Division 2 regional, setting themselves up with the possibility of two home games.
The Kaukauna girls volleyball team cruised through the WIAA Division 1 regional tournament last week, beating Green Bay schools by a combined 6-0 score at the KHS fieldhouse.
The Kimberly girls’ volleyball team earned itself a bye in last week’s Division 1 regional semifinal match and then took on Bay Port in a regional final, eventually dispatching the Pirates in four sets.
The Papermakers won 25-15, 25-14, 17-25, 27-25 to earn their regional championship plaque.

The Kaukauna girls cross country team won last weekend’s Division 1 sectional at Manitowoc Lincoln High School with 36 points and the Kimberly girls were behind them with 60 points as both teams qualified for the state meet that takes place this weekend.
