The roller coaster ride of openings, closings and regulations that has been the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be changing again. While variants from England, Brazil and South Africa may change things again, Kaukauna officials are looking at tentative opening dates for various city-owned facilities.

There is a primary on Feb. 16 for village trustee in the Village of Harrison. There are three seats available with seven people on the ballot: Julene Baldwin, Darlene Bartlein, Matt Lancaster, Lou Miller, Kirk Pontow, Dennis Reed and Shawn Sanderfoot. The following returned questionnaires:

Combined Locks’ Elm Street will be reconstructed this summer on a narrower base following a decision by the village board at last week’s meeting.

Open enrollment is available to all applicants in Little Chute School District 4K and high school grades, according to a report to the Little Chute School Board by Director of Pupil Services Heidi Schmidt.

The temptation to drive faster than the 25 mph speed limit on a straight stretch of village streets seems to be too much for drivers along Stommel and Pigeon Roads in Sherwood.

Road construction and engineering contracts were approved by the Buchanan Town Board at last week’s meeting.

Peters Construction received a final payment for 2020 road construction for $49,836.32. Funds remaining in the 2020 road construction budget were rolled over into the 2021 budget by board action.

In a year where COVID-19 changed just about everything, the Village of Little Chute kept operating as an essential entity and kept the village growing.

Because of the dangers of the virus, the village needed to take precautions and be flexible but safe to keep things going.
