It wasn’t quite Hollywood but there was a real, professional film crew in downtown Kaukauna last week when Molly Preston, who spent time growing up in Freedom (the town located north of Kaukauna) found an area she wanted to have in her independent film, titled, “Freedom WI.”
Both residents and Sherwood elected and administrative officials have spent plenty of time, thought and energy concerning the troubled storm water drainage along the south side of that iron flat village street. It only recently was developed for residences in the past three to four years.

The concrete road surface on Highway N in Little Chute has been “rubblized,” before asphalt is applied.
Highway N in Little Chute closed on Aug. 9 between Highway 96 and Highway OO for a pavement improvement project that uses a relatively new process, rubblization.
Rubblization is just what it sounds — creating rubble out of the road surface.
It’s time to wrap up the Combined Locks celebration, and the first order of business is to seal the time capsule again. That is set to happen at the regularly scheduled village board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the village hall.

They also noted the proximity of that crossing to the proposed new bumpout and crossing closer to Frogg’s Ice Cream.
The Wisconsin DOT recently informed Sherwood officials the familiar street crossing in front of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will not continue following the 2022 paving project for Highways 55 and 114.
