Kaukauna Public Works Board hears details of swimming pool master plan

Highlights of the Kaukauna swimming pool master plan were discussed during the July 19 board of public works meeting. Blake Theisen of Parkitecture + Planning in Madison reported the details that included input from both city residents via a community survey and the members of the pool planning advisory committee.

Mill officials to city and residents: Landfill odors not a quick fix


Brian Roebke photo/Recent rains have made portions of the new landfill cell more sodden again, which creates the offensive sulfur smell coming from the sponge-like wood fiber material at the Red Hills Landfill in Kaukauna.
The latest report from Ahlstrom Munksjo mill officials regarding the Red Hills Landfill was both hopeful and sobering.

Kaukauna Plan Commission makes final approvals for downtown project

The Kaukauna Plan Commission approved the final site plan for the Uptown Development on Lawe Street and East Wisconsin Avenue last week, clearing another hurdle in the process to construct a 68-room Sleep Inn hotel and 101-unit apartment complex. The plan now goes to the common council for final approval.
