Increasing concerns about safety precautions near two Kaukauna elementary schools on the city’s north side are creating some new thoughts about warning signs.

The Kimberly Board of Education approved the 2022-23 staffing plan at its last meeting. According to Superintendent Bob Mayfield, the plan includes an overall reduction in staff of one FTE, and gave administration permission to add staff if enrollment dictates it.

The Little Chute School Board last week approved the donation of a leadership academy program for students and student athletes by Jeff Janssen, son of Mary Janssen, former president and longtime school board member.

The Kimberly Area School District Board of Education approved a 4 percent overall compensation plan for 2022-23  that includes a wage increase that will be distributed based on compensation goals, as well as a one-time stipend.

The rising cost of health insurance is a concern for every business, and school districts are one of the largest businesses — with their service educating students — in every community.

Although short of the fundraising goal, the Little Chute School District multi-purpose field project fund raising committee, encouraged by an uptick in daily donations from residents and confident that verbal promises not met by major donors will be forthcoming, will draft and publish bid specifications this week.
