The Kimberly School Board approved an out of country trip for sixth graders at last week’s meeting. The trip will be to Costa Rica for students at Mapleview Inter-mediate School and will take place from July 8-15 in 2024.

The Kimberly school district saw a 41 percent increase with the budget this year due to private school voucher costs. The private voucher costs increased to over $800,000 this year and total over $2.6 million for Kimberly area taxpayers since the vouchers were approved.

The Little Chute School Board last week approved a revised balanced budget for 2022-23 of $20,380,342, of which $4,655,595 will be supported by the tax levy.

The Kimberly Area School District has developed and approved a new position this year as Angela Van Grinsven, a former second grade literacy teacher at Westside, will be the named as a phonological interventionist for the district.

The 4K Center for Literacy in the Kimberly Area School District will be getting more space. The board looked at options at last week’s meeting, including renovating the current location, building a new facility, and expanding at a current facility.

Publicity around the desire of the Kaukauna Area School District’s Board of Education to add a welcome sign in front of Kaukauna High School by the galloping ghost bronze statue turned out to be a pretty good financial deal for the district.
