The Kimberly tennis team earned a pair of 6-1 wins last week as the team played in a quad in Mantiowoc last Saturday. The Papermakers beat Slinger and Manitowoc Lincoln with the team sweeping the singles matches against the Indians.
Peter Van Grinsven started his varsity golf career on a high note last week. He posted a team best score of 40 strokes in their 170-180 win over Appleton East last Friday at Reid Golf Course in Appleton.
Kimberly’s Sawyer Deering is off to a big start for Kimberly Papermakers baseball. The Tennessee commit has made it count from both sides of the plate as the Papermakers are off to a 3-0 start to the season.
Little Chute senior Charlie Vanden Burgt shined in the Mustangs’ second game against three time defending state champion Denmark last week. He allowed three hits and struck out 11 in a 9-0 win over the Vikings last week.
Carly Poggemann took first in two events last week as the Kimberly track and field teams participated in a triangular at Appleton East. Poggemann had a time of 17.02 in the 100 meter hurdles, while also running a time of 50.58 in the 300 meter hurdles.
Carson Van Dinter and Emma Sippel both took home two first place finishes at last week’s home triangular against Appleton North and Hortonville. Both took first in the 100 and 200 meter dashes for the Ghosts.
Senah Hanes helped the Kimberly soccer team start their conference season on a solid note. The UW-Green Bay commit scored four goals for the Papermakers with three in the first half against Appleton West last week.
The Kaukauna golf team didn’t let the weather faze them as they earned a big conference win last week against Fond du Lac on Country Side Golf Course. The Ghosts edged out the conference contending Cardinals by eight strokes in a 180-187 win.
Karly Meredith started out her junior season for Kaukauna softball with continued dominance on the mound. The Virginia commit threw 45 strikeouts as the Ghosts have started the season with a 5-0 record.
