NEENAH — The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts wrestling team dominated its competition yet again as they punched their ticket to the WIAA Division 1 team state meet with big wins over Bay Port and Luxemburg-Casco.
After having being a two-time state champion and three time conference champ in the high jump at Kaukauna, Olivia Van Zeeland has continued that success as part of the track and field team at UW-Milwaukee.
The league-leading Kaukauna boys basketball team jumped out to an unexpected 30-13 lead in Friday’s conference matchup and cruised to a 64-51 victory over the league’s third-place team, extending their record to 14-1 in the Fox Valley Association and 19-2 overall.
Little Chute boys basketball coach Jake Van Roy still considered last week a successful week despite opening the week with a loss to Roncalli in the NEC vs. EWC challenge.
The Kaukauna girls basketball team had a battle with one of the other top teams in the FVA last week as they suffered a close five point loss to the Neenah Rockets.
The Kimberly Papermakers girls wrestling team made school history with their first team title at last week’s WIAA regional in Mishicot. The girls scored 216 points in the regional as they were among two teams that scored more than 100 points in the regional.
The Little Chute Mustangs are sending two wrestlers to this year’s WIAA individual state tournament in Madison. Owen Peeters and Benacee Jacker fought their way through their brackets and earned second place finishes at Saturday’s Two Rivers sectional.
