Kimberly alums Kayla Behnke and Jack Schreiber both took home first place finishes last week for the UW-Eau Claire track and field teams as they compete at the Warren Bowlus invite at UW-Stout.
APPLETON -- The Kaukauna Ghosts won their sixth straight game, and ninth out of 10, in emphatic fashion on Tuesday, Jan. 28, taking down Appleton East 86-42.
In a battle of winless teams, the Little Chute girls basketball team showed some fight as they fell short of their first win of the season. The Mustangs trailed by 16 in the second half of the game and cut the Hilbert lead to six before taking the 52-44 loss at home.
It was a challenging but a great test for the Little Chute wrestling program last week. The Mustangs wrestled in an invite last weekend against teams from both Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan at Marinette High School.
Landon Van Offeren put in some good work for the Kimberly boys basketball team last week. The senior put up double figure scoring in Kimberly’s wins over Hortonville and Appleton West.
The Little Chute Mustangs came up clutch last week against Fox Valley Lutheran. Senior Deyten Magnussen scored the final six points before the defense stepped up in the final two minutes of a 52-51 road victory.
The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts girls basketball team played a close one on the road last week against conference foe Neenah. The Ghosts got another big performance from senior Addison Baumgart, while Keira Plate and Ava Reader stepped up late in a 62-58 win.
Turnovers and a late first half run ended Kimberly’s 16 game winning streak. With the game tied late in the first half, Pewaukee made a 14-4 run to take the advantage in a midseason battle of top 10 teams in the state.
