After a regional final appearance in her first season back as head coach, Carrie Raminger’s Kimberly girls volleyball team is ready for another run this season.

WINNECONNE – Mistakes proved costly for the Little Chute Mustangs as they turned the ball over five times in their season opening 34-21 loss to Winneconne on Friday night. Junior quarterback Casey Perz was picked off three times with a costly pick six late in the game.

The Kimberly boys soccer team had a young starting lineup last season that gained experience last year, and head coach Carl Gardner thinks the experience will pay off after their 9-7-1 season a year ago.

After top five finishes from both teams last season, the Kimberly cross country teams have high expectations heading into this season. The Papermakers are looking to build off a third place boys finish and a fifth place girls finish at the sectional meet a year ago.

The Kimberly girls tennis team will be looking to continue their success from the last two years under a new head coach. Former UW-Whitewater club tennis player Dylan Meyer takes over this season after the team won at least a share of the conference title last season.

Kaukauna head coach Kelly Kinas expects another deep run from his girls cross country team, while the boys team is looking to get stronger and add to the numbers on the team. Last season, the girls took third at the state meet, while conference foe Neenah took second.
