Alana Zarnecke had a big week for the Kaukauna girls basketball team. After having a career high of 30 points against Appleton East, the senior added a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds in a big matchup with Hortonville to help the Ghosts start 8-0 on the season.

Kimberly senior and App State commit MaKenzie Drout achieved a big milestone last week after two double digit scoring performances. With her third basket against Oshkosh North, Drout notched her 1,000th point in her high school career.
The Kaukauna boys basketball team didn’t go easy on alumni player Rob Van Dyke bringing his team to Kaukauna, defeating Kenosha Indian Trail 79-49 in the final game of the Baird/Gustman Shootout at Kaukauna High School.
Rob Van Dyke, a member of Kaukauna’s 2008 Fox Valley Association championship team, returned to Kaukauna Saturday with his Kenosha Indian Trail basketball team.
Little Chute earned four top finishes in the Brillion invite last week. The week was headlined by a second place finish from Brandon Brady in the 220 pound weight class and a third place finish from Trenton Behling in the 138 pound weight class.
The Little Chute girls basketball team’s offensive struggles have continued. The team only made 10 shots in their rivalry loss to Wrightstown and only made two three pointers in their loss to Denmark last week.
Alana Zarnecke and Alexa Kinas continue to lead the way for the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts girls basketball team. Both posted double figure efforts in their two wins last week as they improved to 6-0 on the season.
MaKenzie Drout led five Kimberly Papermakers in double figures in their game against Fond du Lac last week. Drout had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds in the team’s 72-54 win.
