Kaukauna girls basketball wins battle of state ranked teams

Alana Zarnecke had a big week for the Kaukauna girls basketball team. After having a career high of 30 points against Appleton East, the senior added a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds in a big matchup with Hortonville to help the Ghosts start 8-0 on the season.

Kimberly senior and App State commit MaKenzie Drout achieved a big milestone last week after two double digit scoring performances. With her third basket against Oshkosh North, Drout notched her 1,000th point in her high school career.

Kaukauna had an easy time with Oshkosh West on Friday night, beating the Wildcats 79-49. 
The Ghosts scored 14 unanswered points to take the lead to 28-12 and it continued to be all Kaukauna after that.

MaKenzie Drout led five Kimberly Papermakers in double figures in their game against Fond du Lac last week. Drout had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds in the team’s 72-54 win.
