The Kimberly boys track and field team took second at last week’s conference meet at Fond du Lac High School. The boys finished the meet with 127 points, while the girls took third with 117 points.
Charlie Vanden Burgt showed his senior leadership as he helped the Little Chute Mustangs baseball team earn their first conference title in 38 years. The senior struck out 11 and allowed four hits in their second win over Luxemburg-Casco last week.
Sportsmanship added a new ring to the Kimberly and Kaukauna rivalry last week. At last week’s conference track meet at Fond du Lac High School, intially both teams thought they were tied and there was a coin flip for who would take the plaque home that night.
Little Chute softball coach Travis Pfrang thinks that his team has momentum heading into the playoffs despite suffering a close high scoring loss to Fox Valley Lutheran last week.
The Kimberly tennis team had a strong week as they headed into the conference tournament after wins over Appleton West, Appleton East and Oshkosh West.
The Kimberly Papermakers golf team beat Wrightstown by four strokes at this year’s Heart of the Valley Invite last week at Wander Springs. The Papermakers had 318 strokes, which was four strokes ahead of Wrightstown in the meet.
Bron Schaefer has had his LeBron James moments this year for the Kaukauna baseball team. The pitcher added a 14 strikeout performance last week against Appleton West.
The Kimberly girls soccer team was on a fast scoring attack last week. In their wins over Oshkosh North and Kaukauna, the Papermakers scored five goals in the first 20 minutes of both matches.
