BRILLION — On an unseasonably warm, more like a September day than one in late October, four runners from the Little Chute cross country team saw their season continue at Deer Run Golf Course in Brillion, site of a WIAA Division 2 cross country sectional race.
Drew Joten made his mark on round one playoff action for the Little Chute Mustangs last week. Joten ran for 121 yards and four touchdowns in Little Chute’s 28-14 win over Winneconne on Friday night.
The Kaukauna cross country team had six runners get top 10 finishes last week in the sectional meet in Manitowoc. Aaron Schimke had the top boys finish with a third place time of 15:49.20, while Sydney Fauske took fourth for the girls with a time of 19:25.20.
The Kimberly Papermakers boys soccer team saw their season end at home last week. The Papermakers fell 1-0 to conference foe Appleton North on Oct. 18.
The Little Chute girls volleyball team saw their season end with an early playoff exit. The Mustangs fell to Plymouth in four sets in a home regional match on Oct. 18 (24-26, 21-25, 25-21, 21-25).
Kimberly softball pitcher Josie Hammen is taking her talents from one storied program to another. The senior committed to Division 3 powerhouse UW-Whitewater last week.

HOWARD — The No. 5 seed Kaukauna girls volleyball team won its second consecutive WIAA Division 1 regional title with a thrilling 3-2 victory Saturday night at No. 4 seed Bay Port.
The Little Chute boys soccer team ended their regular season with a bit of a high note. The team notched a postseason win last week before ending their season in the second round of the WIAA playoffs.
