The Kaukauna Ghosts girls volleyball team is getting healthier as they head into the playoffs. The team notched a four set win over Neenah on Oct. 13 as they saw senior Paige Miller play for the first time in a full match in more than a month.
The Kimberly Papermakers girls volleyball team ended the regular season with their season long goal. The Papermakers notched another conference title after last week’s match with Appleton West.
Crosstown rivalries often pair families against each other. For Kimberly’s Thomas Meyers and Kaukauna’s Noah Hofmann, the two cousins got to square off one more time against each other in the Kimberly vs. Kaukauna rivalry.
Logan Salzmann helped solidify a third place finish for the boys cross country team for Kimberly last week. Salzmann took second with a run of 15:45.5 during the team’s run at the FVA conference meet at Kaukauna’s Countryside Golf Course on Oct. 13.
Kimberly grad A.J. Klein added to his NFL resume last week. Klein made his season debut for the Baltimore Ravens and recorded a tackle in the team’s 24-20 loss to the New York Giants.
The Kaukauna golf team finished eighth last week at the state meet at University Ridge in Verona. The Ghosts finished with a 700 score in the two day event and were just two strokes ahead of Tomah in the event.

Kaukauna High School coach Dave Hash had a reunion with his former athletes in December, and they will meet again Thursday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Electric City Lanes in Kaukauna. After being limited due to injuries the last few weeks, Kimberly senior running back Blake Barry was back for the Papermakers and he made it count. The senior ran for three touchdowns including a 63-yard run in the fourth quarter to secure a 31-10 win over Neenah.
