The Kimberly girls soccer team headlined the area state honors this past spring. In girls soccer, Emily Urban earned first team all-state honors for Kimberly, while Kennedy Ebben earned second team honors, while Urban was also a WIAA scholar athlete award winner this past year.
Kaukauna’s Nolan Lotzer is not only motivated by his cousin’s success on the field, but he is also motivated by the success of the program’s state title from this past spring.
Little Chute’s Legion baseball team ended last week with a big run effort in a 14-4 win over Ashwaubenon last week. The Mustangs scored six runs in the first with Noah Faccio and Auggie Hawthorne getting RBI hits in the frame.
Kimberly’s Gavin Dissen says that both of his sports have helped him improve as an athlete, while both sports have helped provide a family feel as a team. Dissen plays volleyball for the Papermakers, while he has taken strides this year as a member of the varsity baseball team.
Mason Hildebrand helped the Kaukauna Angels Legion baseball team continue their recent dominace over Kimberly in last week’s Legion action. Hildebrand had four hits in their home win over Kimberly at Bayorgeon last week.
Aiden and Jack Van Epern made names for themselves as boys volleyball players at Kaukauna but they’ve continued their stellar play at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where they’ve been members of the men’s club volleyball program.
The Kimberly Cougars scored 27 runs in their doubleheader sweep last week with one of Appleton’s Legion teams. They scored 15 runs in game one and scored 12 in game two as improved their record to 7-6 on the summer.
The WIAA approved the limited use of a shot clock in basketball for next season. Schools will now be permitted to use a 35-second shot clock for non-conference games if there is a mutual agreement between the teams as permitted by NFHS rule adaptations.
