Benacee Jaker had was Little Chute’s wrestler of the week after the team’s home matches with Wrightstown and Fox Valley Lutheran last week. Jaker won both his matches by pin in the 190 pound weight class.
The Kaukauna Gallopping Ghosts girls basketball team is looking for growth this week after struggling against two of the conference’s best teams. The team suffered double digit losses to both Neenah and Hortonville last week.
It was a tough week for the Little Chute boys basketball team as they are battling through injuries to two key players. The team has lost players Tyler Fischer and Cooper Effa in the early parts of this season.
Kaukauna softball player Taryn Christopher is headed north for her collegiate softball career. The senior signed her letter of intent to play at Division 2’s Minnesota-Duluth last week.
HORTONVILLE — Similar to its game three days earlier, the Kaukauna Ghosts got behind in the first half but figured things out in the second half, beating Hortonville 77-68 after trailing by nine points at halftime.
Ava Van Vonderen added to the scoring depth for the Kimberly Papermakers girls basketball team. She scored 19 points last week in the two games for the team.
Kimberly grad Mason Stepanski and Kaukauna grad Vanessa Uitenbroek both headlined last week’s action among area high school grads. Both earned awards for their efforts so far this year.
