The Kaukauna girls cross country team is headed back to state as a team for the fourth year in a row, while Kimberly’s Logan Salzmann and Andrew Milhans are headed to state for Kimberly after last weekend’s sectional meet in Stevens Point.
The Kimberly boys volleyball team got stellar play from Nick Sroda and Owen Krause as the two helped them toward their win over Appleton East at home last week (25-8, 25-12, 25-21).
Last week’s Kimberly vs. Appleton East matchup was a last in a sibling rivalry. It was last time that senior Lucas Eckrose would play against a squad coached by his older brother Zachary.
The Little Chute cross country team last week racked up a first place team finish for the boys, while junior Ashley Wilson took home a first place finish for the girls. The boys finished with 56 points, while the girls finished just three points behind Freedom with 51 points.
The Kimberly boys and Kaukauna girls cross country teams both took second last week at the FVA conference championship meet at Countryside golf course. Kimberly’s boys team scored 73 points in the meet, while Kaukauna’s girls team scored 38 points.
The Kaukauna boys soccer team started the playoffs this week after two non-conference losses last week. The team ended their regular season at 2-13-1 and started the postseason with a road match against Green Bay Preble yesterday.
The Kimberly tennis team had a strong showing last week at the state meet in Madison. Julia Gurholt made it to the fifth place match and placed in the top eight, while the doubles pair of Brianna Owens and Sonja Mau placed in the top 16.
