APPLETON — Appleton North swept the Kaukauna boys volleyball in three sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-16, in a WIAA Sectional semifinal match Oct 24 at Appleton North High School.

The Kaukauna girls cross country team made it back-to-back third place finishes after last week’s state cross country meet at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.

The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts girls volleyball team saw their season end after a four set loss last week in the sectional semifinals against Appleton North. The Ghosts grabbed the first set before their opponent won the match using big runs to put the team in a hole.

The quest for Kimberly’s boys’ volleyball team to earn a trip to the state tournament may have started a year ago.

In 2022, the Papermakers faced Appleton North in a sectional final at Green Bay Preble, and in the fifth set, the Lightning won 15-12.
